Career progression is a process which is informed by the plans individuals have for the future and therefore entails moving from one place to another. The movement can be either vertical or horizontal depending on what career aspirations one has and the available opportunities. It is therefore important for people who are in careers to visualise their career goals and work out different steps they need to take in order to achieve their aspirations.
