Funding your studies

• All South African citizens
• All SASSA grant recipients qualifies for funding
• Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per annum
• Person with disability: Combined household income must not be more than R600 000 per annum
• Students who started studying before 2018 whose household income is not more than R122 000 per annum.

• South African citizenship
• Not older than forty (40) years
• Outstanding / satisfactory academic performance
• Field of study (Heritage related)
• Not employed full time by government, state agencies or private sector with a salary of more than R130 000
• Students that are beneficiaries of other bursaries will not qualify to receive the bursary

• Learners must be employed by FASSET registered employer or organisation.
• A learner must be studying a qualification linked to FASSET top 10 scarce skills.
• Learners must registered/studying 
• at a Public HET or TVET College.
• Learner must be registered for a qualification from NQF Level 06
• Funding will be limited to one (1) academic year.
• Budget is capped at R50 000 per learner.
• The bursary funding covers Tuition and Textbooks only.
• Selection will be on a first come first served basis, however, academic performance will be taken into account.

NB: Interns and learners currently participating in learning programmes such as articles are not eligible for the bursary

• South African students and those with permanent residence status.
• University, University of Technology, and TVET Colleges (NATED programmes) students or Grade 12 learners who have been accepted in institutions of higher learning.
• Students who are accepted or received provisional acceptance for a course/qualification that is in line with local government sector.
• Priority will be given to studies that relate to the local government sector priority occupations priorities aligned to the broad service delivery areas and support functions aligned to the five broad focus areas of LGSETA.
• Please refer to the list of qualifications that will be supported for the bursary on the LGSETA website.
• Only students that are studying full time will be funded.

• Grade12 Applications
• Completed Matric/Grade 12
• English – Level 5 and Above
• Pure Maths – Level 5 and Above
• Physical Science – Level 5 and Above
• Unemployed South African Citizen between 18 - 25 years

• South African citizen
• Have registered at a tertiary institution
• Be able to demonstrate financial need
• Be 18 years or older have a strong academic history
• Have a strong academic history
• Must be entering their first year of academic study
• Be committed to developing their community
